 Suzanne was born and raised in San Francisco, attended Lowell High School, and graduated from UC Davis with a BA in International Relations and a minor in Russian Language. After graduation and backpacking through Europe, she returned to San Francisco and was hired to work at a staffing agency, which eventually led to a career in Marketing and Merchandising with Levi Strauss & Co. Suzanne loved her job in fashion but after 9 years, it was time for a break. She saved enough money to live on for a year and waited for her pink slip, which came in 2004. That summer, Suzanne traveled around the US and eventually found herself working at Maho Bay Camps, an eco-resort on the Caribbean island of St. John. Upon her reluctant return from paradise, her aunt commissioned her to revamp her company’s newsletter and website, and to work with her on various special projects. Five years later, Suzanne is the Marketing Director and a licensed agent/broker for the company her aunt started in San Francisco in 1963 - Marina Associates Insurance Agency.
Fashion and insurance couldn’t be more different, but Suzanne’s background in sales, marketing, product management, and her presentation and organizational skills gave her a solid foundation for her new career in the family business. Suzanne also works with her mother, uncle, and cousins who head up the Santa Rosa branch. Her family’s close personal and working relationship benefits their clients, and with little to no turnover, they really get to know them, and vice versa. Your insurance agent should be a trusted longtime partner that grows and changes with you as your needs grow and change, much like your financial advisor, your doctor, and yes, even your family.
When not servicing clients or thinking of new ways to expand the business, Suzanne loves to play on the beach with her Chihuahua Yogi, travel to new and exotic places, ski, camp, hike and cook. She also has strange and untreated addictions to mangoes and polar fleece. A supporter of animal rescue and a volunteer with Wonder Dog Rescue, Suzanne helps place homeless animals in their forever homes and hopes that one day there will no longer be a need for animal shelters.
Suzanne is proud to be part of the family business and is lucky to have such great role models in her life. Suzanne is the Personal Insurance “go to” person for her BNI group and a mentor to new members.
